Association Logo

Did you wonder where we came up with such a logo? The state of Kentucky is obvious. But what about the d,b,q,p.

The symbol exemplifies the mirror images and confusion of identification that exists within the mind of the dyslexic, ADD, ADHD student when he is faced with decoding the written word.

When a student looks at a "b", he may read it as a "b", or maybe a "p" or perhaps a "d", and that about "q". Which letter is it? It's all a matter of perception. Rotate the same symbol and it becomes a different letter.

These are not only letters they confuse. Others are "w", "m", "n", and "u". Imagine how long it would take for you to decode a simple sentence if you had to keep guessing about which letter was in the word. Just think of the difference in comprehension one little letter makes if you read it wrong in a sentence. For example: If the sentence says, "Nan can nap." and the dyslexic reads, " Man cam map.", the sentence takes a whole meaning.

It leaves little wonder as to why the child often develops more complex problems.
